Aid Notification and Review

When and how to review your financial aid package.

Financial Aid Package Notification Time Frames

Visit FAFSA Changes for delays affected by the late 2024-2025 FAFSA release.

  • Incoming Freshmen: Early March before the aid year begins.
  • New Transfer: Late April before the aid year begins.
  • All Other Students: For the upcoming aid year, shortly after the conclusion of spring semester for the current aid year.

Once the time frames specified above have passed, all students should expect a Financial Aid Package notification one to two weeks after completing all requirements.

If summer is your first semester or you plan to enroll in summer, review Summer Financial Aid for details and expectations.

  2. Select the Award Year from the drop-down list (e.g., 2023-2024 Aid Year).
  3. Select the Award Offer tab.
  4. You will see your current financial aid awards and can review and confirm/accept the terms and conditions for each award
    a. You may accept or decline all or a portion of any subsidized or unsubsidized loans offered.
    b. Note: if offered subsidized loans, they must be accepted in full before you can accept any portion of the unsubsidized loan.
  5. Select Confirm.

Reminder: If you are a first-time loan borrower at UWF, please review your outstanding requirements to ensure you have completed Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note. You will locate any pending requirements in the Home section of your financial aid app. Pending items WILL prevent our office from releasing any of your financial aid.

Other Options and Important Information

MyUWF: MyUWF features information and services you need to be an active member of the UWF community.

Transact: Transact is an app in MyUWF that allows students and parents to see the account balance, fee payment, account activity, receipt history, payment plans and tax forms.

Transact-Parent Portal: The best way to access balance information about your student's account is to create a Parent Portal on CashNet.

Payment Plan: The Student Accounts & Cashier's Office provides eligible students with an alternative to paying the full amount of tuition, housing and meal plans at the beginning of each term. UWF offers a payment plan with up to five installments for the fall and spring semesters.

Residency Information: Please ensure your residency is complete to view the most accurate tuition assessment.

Estimated Direct Cost Calculator: This calculator will help you calculate your estimated direct costs. Your costs may change based on how many credit hours you take, your meal plan selection and whether you live on campus.

Indirect Costs: These are estimated costs associated with your expected enrollment that are not directly billed by UWF. Costs can include books, supplies, transportation and personal expenses.

Scholarship Portal: To access the Scholarship Portal via your MyUWF, you must accept your Admissions offer.

Additional Loan Options: In addition to Federal Direct loans, loan options include the Parent PLUS loan, which allows a parent to borrow on behalf of their dependent, undergraduate children, and private loans. A PLUS loan cannot exceed the student's cost of attendance and other aid awarded. Parents may apply for the Parent PLUS loan here. Private loans require a credit check and are obtained through private lenders, and the Financial Aid office only certifies your enrollment and cost of education. Be aware there is a waiting period between the time your loan is certified and when funds are released to your account.

Military and Veterans Resource Center (MVRC): UWF is recognized as a Gold-level university in the large public school category from Military Friendly® Schools, and is dedicated to supporting our military and veteran students. The UWF MVRC serves as the leading campus advocate for military, dependents and veteran students, working to ensure the needs of these individuals are met through coordination with multiple university offices and services.
