Biography

Jason has a strong background in entrepreneurship with combat-proven leadership. Jason completed his MBA and B.S. in Management at UWF. He completed a Post-Graduate Fellowship with Ochsner Health System where he led physician operations for three years. 

In 2013, Jason launched IRIS – Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems – as the CEO of the start-up healthcare technology company. The company achieved FDA Approval for the early detection of eye disease and one out of eight patients examined found sight-threatening disease. Within four years the company had grown at a 966% growth rate ranking IRIS among the Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America by Inc. Magazine. During his tenure, Jason raised seed funding and venture capital investment to fuel the go-to-market strategy. In addition to his MBA, Jason has completed executive education programs in Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions from Harvard Business School. 

Prior to his business ventures, Jason served eight years in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Team Leader. With tours in South Korea, Bosnia, and the initial occupation of Iraq, Crawford was awarded the Commendation Medal x3, Combat Infantry Badge, and Purple Heart.  

Jason and his wife Heather live in Pensacola with their three daughters. He believes in supporting the community and serves at Olive Baptist Church, as the Chairman of the Board for the UWF Foundation, and as a Director for Every Child A Reader in Escambia.
