Biography

Brian Wyer is the President/CEO of the Gulf Coast Minority Chamber of Commerce. He serves on several boards including United Way of West Florida, Achieve Escambia, Baptist Health Care., Human Relations Commission, Equality Project Alliance, Fiesta Conquistador, and the Early Learning Coalition. He was on the Pensacola Mayor’s Transition Team and selected to the Global Leadership Florida Advisory Committee and the 2023 Florida Great Northwest Leadership Class. 

Brian is the 2021 Pace Award Community Advocate of the Year, 2023 United Way Service Award winner, 2023 Rotary Ethics winner, 2023 United Way Community Service winner, and was selected to the 2023 Florida Great Northwest Leadership Class.  

Brian attended Pensacola Catholic High and graduated from UWF in 1991 with a MIS degree. He then lived in Tampa for over 21 years working at both IBM and PwC. While in Tampa, he kept strong connections to UWF by serving on the Alumni Board and the Foundation Board. Brian has been married for 30 years to his lovely, talented, and smart wife, Harriett (UWF ’92), and has three children: Steven and Brianna attend UCF and Kendra is a Freshman at UWF.

As a UWF student, Brian was active as a mentor, student ambassador, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity member, and police student patroller and served on numerous campus committees.  He was the first winner of the Kenneth L. Curtis Award.
