Kirby Bridges

Biography

I’m truly honored to hold a position within Counseling and Psychological Services. As a neurodivergent individual who has faced my own mental health challenges, I appreciate the immense value of mental health support. I take great pride in my role within the department and look forward to contributing to the UWF campus community.

Originally from Tennessee, I enlisted in the Navy at 19, serving on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Following my service, I pursued education at the University of North Alabama, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in English. Over the past 12+ years, I’ve taught a diverse range of subjects at the middle and high school levels, including creative writing, film, literature studies, and drama. I also play Dungeons & Dragons and the banjo!

My passion for assisting students has always been my guiding force, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue doing so in my role with Counseling and Psychological Services.
