Outreach Services

Outreach presentations are a way in which we hope to provide an open and integrative forum for presenting various topics. Outreach presentations are free and this service is available to students, staff and faculty.

Outreach presentations are provided by request and can be tailored for various events. Presentations may be in the form of an oral presentation, a PowerPoint presentation, an informational table, or small roundtable-style discussions (when scheduling permits). Presentations generally require at least 45 minutes.

Counseling outreach programs are available for scheduling presentations during normal university hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). If possible we will attempt to meet requests for outreach presentations after hours but no later than 7 p.m. Due to scheduling demands, we ask that you make your request at least two weeks prior to the presentation date.

Some common outreach topics offered by Counseling and Psychological Services are:

  • Stress management
  • Time management
  • Mindfulness
  • Meditation
  • Healthy relationships
  • Anxiety management
  • Coping with depression
  • Suicide prevention
  • Decoding personality
  • How to be an LGBTQ+ ally

What to Expect

Outreach presentations are a way in which we hope to provide an open and integrative forum for presenting various topics. In our outreach presentations, we seek to provide the opportunity for attendees to ask questions, give feedback, and share their ideas. We hope that attendees will find the outreach presentations appropriate, informative, and inviting. We do recognize that outreach topics may give rise to additional issues. We hope that if any person experiences the need to speak with someone following an outreach presentation, they would visit Counseling and Psychological Services to speak with someone to assist them as needed.

Follow up and Evaluation

Following the presentation attendees will be asked to complete an evaluation form regarding the presentation. The feedback provided will be utilized to ensure that the needs of attendees are met and that we are providing the highest quality service possible.
