Biography

I am happy and proud to work with UWF students as a part of CAPS caring and professional team. I have been with CAPS since 2018 in different roles: a pre-master’s intern, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and an Interim Director of Counseling and Psychological Services. I also serve as a Group Coordinator, as I enjoy facilitating groups and believe in groups because I have witnessed group therapy’s amazing power. I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of West Florida. Counseling is the second career for me, about which I am very passionate. I earned my Law degree abroad and used to work abroad as a lawyer. I also graduated with my MBA from UWF in Spring 2023. As a proud UWF alumni, UWF staff member, and a former adjunct instructor for the UWF psychology department, I am happy to be a part of the UWF community.

My professional interests include interpersonal process therapy and other humanistic therapies, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and process groups. I believe that if we want to have what we do not have, we have to do what we do not do, which can be challenging. However, discomfort points to the potential for growth. I am excited about helping clients make the change happen. I view psychology as a science and an instrument for everybody: whether you want to improve your mood or learn how to better connect with other people, whether you are interested in learning healthy coping strategies or better reading people’s body language. I believe that virtually everybody can benefit from counseling, and I look forward to continuing working with UWF students!
