Dr. Carla Bradley

Biography

Carla began her career in mental health in 1980 at a social work agency which focused on adoption and foster care. About five years later, she began working as a therapist in acute care hospitals, initially treating adolescents and adults with AOD issues and eventually treating dually-diagnosed adults.  Carla worked in that setting for 11 years. In 1996 she began working in college mental health for her doctoral internship and her post-doctoral residency year. After earning her doctorate, she spent the next four years as a licensed psychologist on the Wyoming frontier working at a community mental health center. In 2002, Carla returned to college mental health at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she provided short-term therapy to students.  She also directed the APA-accredited doctoral training program for 11 years and was the lead psychologist for over 5 years.  She began directing counseling centers in 2018 and spent 5 years directing at the Georgia Institute of Technology before coming to CAPS in 2023.

Carla started college as a voice major and loves the musical artistry of the healing duet between counselor and client. Her current career passion is leading and supporting the CAPS staff, who are dedicated to assisting college students in the creation of the life of their dreams.
