Cultural Enrichment Workshops
Origami Workshops
Join us for a relaxing and fun way to learn and practice origami with origami artist, Sachiyo Gunn. All interested participants are welcome. This is a great chance to practice Japanese conversation, too, if you're interested.
Tea Ceremony
Practice the traditional art of "Chado" (The Way of Tea) with a group of Chado enthusiasts who meet weekly, and beginners are always welcome. The tea ceremony involves taking turns at serving and receiving a cup of matcha and Japanese sweets while striving for aesthetic grace and perfection of predetermined forms in movements. Appreciation of the ceramic tea bowls, bamboo implements, flower arrangements, artistic scrolls, and nature are enhanced through this practice. Please call 850.474.2479 for more information.
Meditation
The practice of meditation is a foundational part of Asian culture. Whether seeking higher levels of spiritual awareness or a way to relieve the stresses of everyday living, practitioners benefit from coming together to refine meditation practice. The Japan House and surrounding gardens offer an ideal setting to practice the meditative arts. Please call 850.474.2479 for more information.
