Master Sergeant Josue Herrera

Biography

MSG Josue Herrera has been married to his wife Kristina L. Herrera for 16 years. They have 3 children Lucas (13), Laila (8), Leah (7). MSG Herrera was born and raised in Beacon, NY where he graduated from Beacon High School in 2005. He entered the United States Army on 10 April 2008 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training in fort Benning, GA. Upon completion of Airborne School he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

MSG Herrera’s previous assignments are as follows: D-CO, 2-504PIR, 82ND ABN DIV, Fort Bragg NC; C-CO, 2-504 PIR, 82ND ABN DIV, Fort Bragg NC, C-CO, 1-12 IN, 2IBCT, Fort Carson, Colorado; Ranger Instructor at 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Eglin AFB, Florida; Scout PSG, HHC, 2-22IN, 1BCT Fort Drum, NY; 1SG of D-CO, 2-22IN, 1BCT, 10th MTN DIV (LI), Fort Drum, NY; 1SG of C-CO, 2-22IN, 1BCT, 10th MTN DIV (LI), Fort Drum, NY.

MSG military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “R” Device (6 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (8 OLC), Naval Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation (1 OLC).
