Student Code of Academic Conduct Revision Update

On August 8, 2017, revisions made to the Student Code of Academic Conduct (UWF Regulation 3.030) will go into effect. The Dean of Students and the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (OSRR) are in the process of implementing the changes made to Regulation 3.030.

One of the most important changes to the Academic Misconduct process is the discontinuation of the Academic Misconduct Procedure Forms (A and B). The Form A and the Form B have been replaced with a single online Academic Misconduct Incident Report form that faculty can now utilize to submit an incident of Academic Misconduct to the OSRR for case management. This new process allows the OSRR to create cases faster and notify the charged student in advance of the meeting with charging party (faculty) to discuss the incident.

Another important change to the regulation is the Academic Misconduct Educational Conference (EC). This meeting between the charging part and the charged student has more clearly defined objectives and outcomes than its previous iteration.

Other changes to the regulation include more faculty options including the ability to allow an incident to not be considered part of the charged student's disciplinary record and the option to resolve an incident without a hearing.
