The Library Classroom, Room 123, is located on the 1st floor of the John C. Pace Library. The Classroom acts as an open computer lab for UWF faculty, staff, and students when the room is not otherwise reserved.
The library classroom contains:
- 30 all-in-one student workstations;
- SMART Board, SMART podium, and two 55-inch LED displays controlled by the instructor's workstation;
- SMART Document camera;
- Instructor podium Laptop connections (VGA, HDMI & Ethernet)
- In-room "voice lift" microphone/speaker system
- DVD/VHS/BluRay players;
- Crestron equipment-control unit.
The computers must be accessed with a current Argonet username & password.
The computers in the classroom are preloaded with the same software that is available on other library workstations. If your instruction session requires other specialized software please note this in your request below. Note: our ability to pre-install some software programs will depend on how it is licensed.
The University of West Florida Skylab in the John C. Pace library is a student oriented 21st century learning space that was constructed with the technology needs of students in mind.
The Skylab consists of a non-traditional computer lab, information literacy classroom, multimedia studio and media conversion center. The main lab (room 504) operates with the same hours as the Pace Library. The Multimedia Room/Makerspace (room 519) closes at midnight.
Personal assistance with computer software and hardware is available. Experienced library staff and students are available to assist you with the software and hardware located in the Skylab. Additionally, reference books on the most popular software titles are readily available for use in the Skylab.
