The Graduate Student Association (GRSA) is currently accepting applications for research awards to be granted to UWF graduate students for independent projects, conference travel or research required for degree completion. The intended purpose of the award is to support graduate level research here at UWF. Applications and required materials are due by May 5, 2015. Previous applicants are encouraged to apply again. The University of West Florida celebrates a new partnership with Gulf Islands National Seashore to establish the Gulf Islands Research and Education Center. The GIREC will enhance and promote conservation, research and science education by directing research to high-priority resource management issues; promoting greater interaction between students, scientists and resource managers; and providing high-impact STEM educational opportunities for area students. GIREC joins a network of 19 National Park Service Research Learning Centers that are working cooperatively to address regional and national environmental issues.

UWF’s Master of Science in Administration specialization in Cybersecurity has been officially recognized by the National Professional Science Master's Association (NPSMA). Professional Science Master's degrees are designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in science or mathematics while simultaneously developing workplace skills.
