Information Technology

Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology offers coursework towards undergraduate degrees using computer programming, database administration and security, and network infrastructure support.

The UWF Department of IT is an academic department that is dedicated to providing students with the computing, technical, and project management skills required to become tomorrow's IT professionals, including Database Administrators, Information Security Specialists, System Analysts and Developers, and other positions.

What is the difference between Information Technology and Computer Science?

Both disciplines are based on computing and programming skills.  While computer scientists typically take more math and programming courses, IT students train in system administration (hardware and software) and project management.
