Academic Affairs Staff Awards Program

This program is designed to recognize staff within the Division of Academic Affairs for their contributions to the division and the university.


Academic Affairs Staff Awards Program Information

The Division of Academic Affairs has developed a divisional awards program that is separate from the university-wide employee recognition and awards program. This award program is designed to meet the following UWF Strategic Priority:

UWF Priority 4.2
Recruit, develop, retain, and recognize dedicated, high-quality staff members who advance the mission, vision, and values of the University.

Awards are presented at the annual Division of Academic Affairs Spring Staff Symposium.

List of Award Recipients


Platinum Recognition Award

This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of one extraordinary Division of Academic Affairs employee. The winner will be selected from the “Accolades & Accomplishments Recognition” submissions. All full-time and part-time workforce and OPS employees (staff) in the Division of Academic Affairs are eligible. Employee must be employed at the University for at least two years.

Prior winners of the Platinum Recognition Award are not eligible for three full years. For example, the 2017 winner would not be eligible until 2021. The submission must include at least one clear example of substantial contribution to the university.

The recipient will receive $500 (after tax) and a plaque.


Golden Recognition Award

Up to five winners will be selected from the “Accolades & Accomplishments Recognition” submissions for their extraordinary efforts in performing their job and contributing to the university and/or community. All full-time and part-time workforce and OPS employees (staff) in the Division of Academic Affairs are eligible. Employee must be employed for at least one year (cannot be in orientation year).

Recipients will receive $100 (after tax) and a certificate.

Prior recipients of the Golden Recognition Award are not eligible for two full years.


Accolades & Accomplishments Recognition

Divisional staff are invited to submit names of up to three staff members in the Division of Academic Affairs for special recognition in performing their job and contributions to the university and/or community. All full-time and part-time workforce and OPS employees (staff) in the Division of Academic Affairs are eligible for this recognition regardless of time employed.

The submission must include a description or examples of why the employee deserves the special recognition in any of the following areas:

  • Assistance to students, faculty or staff;
  • Contributions toward improving the Division of Academic Affairs;
  • Efforts in staff development or affirmative action;
  • Participation in university-related activities or committees;
  • Community involvement; or
  • High overall quality of performance (takes initiative, team player, cooperative attitude, consistently dependable, integrity).

Recipients will receive a certificate.

Prior recipients of this award are eligible each year.
