Grades

Students can view grades through the Student Academic Records menu app in MyUWF.

Please see UWF's Grading System for grading and academic credit policies.

How do students receive grades?

Students can view their grades through the Student Academic Records Menu app in MyUWF, either by clicking on the “Final Grades” link or the "View Unofficial Transcripts" link. Grades are usually available through MyUWF by the close of business on the day grades are due to the Office of the Registrar (see Academic Dates & Deadlines for grade submission deadlines).  Grades are due 2 business days after the course ends.

GPA and Academic Standing will be calculated at the end of the semester. Unofficial transcripts will reflect grades 2 business days after the course ends, however, GPA and Academic Standing will not be updated until the end of the semester.

Per UWF AC-34.01: Undergraduate Student Progress to Degree Policy, Grade Forgiveness and Repeat Courses Grade Forgiveness is allowed three times within the undergraduate career. Grade Forgiveness is only for students in their first baccalaureate degree and for the same UWF course for which a previous grade has been earned. Grade Forgiveness does not extend to courses taught at another institution transferred for credit at UWF. The highest grade will be counted for credit. Students may not repeat a course for which they earned a grade of C or above.

Refer to the Undergraduate: Academic Policies/Grade Forgiveness section of the catalog for additional information.

An incomplete (“I”) grade signifies that all course requirements have not been met. Students with questions regarding the issuance of an “I” grade should contact the instructor of record for the course in question.

Please review the UWF's Incomplete Grade Policy in full.

  • Students receiving an incomplete grade ("I") will have until the end of the next semester to complete the course. If a grade change form is not submitted by the instructor by the end of the next semester, the incomplete grade ("I") will be converted to a failing grade ("F").
  • The student is responsible for submitting a written request to the department for a grade change or extension prior to the end of the last instructional day of the semester.
  • Extensions may only be approved for extenuating circumstances and only for a maximum of 12 months.

With the approval of the student’s assigned Academic Advisor, undergraduate students may choose to audit a using the Grade Mode Change Form. All grade mode changes must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. It is the responsibility of the student to understand the restrictions and implications of auditing courses, as outlined in the University Catalog.

 Students selecting the audit option:

  • will not receive academic credit for the course.
  • will receive a grade of "X."
  • who are classified as non-Florida residents for fee purposes will have the fees for the course assessed at the in-state rate.

All courses taken utilizing the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver will be taken on the audit option.

To request a cancellation of the Audit option, students should complete the Grade Mode Change Form.

With the approval of the student’s assigned Academic Advisor, undergraduate students may take selected courses on a Pass/Fail (P/F) basis using the  Grade Mode Change Form. All grade mode changes must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. It is the responsibility of the student to understand the restrictions and implications surrounding the usage of Pass/Fail grades as outlined in the University Catalog.

  • Students must be in good academic standing to select the Pass/Fail option.
  • The Pass/Fail option may be selected for six semester hours or two courses (whichever is greater in credit).
  • The Pass/Fail option cannot be used for courses required to fulfill degree requirements.
  • Students will receive a grade of "P" or "F;" a failed course taken on the Pass/Fail basis counts as part of the maximum six semester hours used towards the Pass/Fail grade option and is computed in the GPA.
  • Graduate students may not elect to use the Pass/Fail grade option.

To request a Cancellation of the Pass/Fail Option students should complete the Grade Mode Change Form.

For detailed, step-by-step instructions, please refer to Understanding Grade Modes.

For undergraduate FTIC students entering Fall 2022 or later, per UWF REG 3.031, a No Credit (NC) grade will be applied to grades of “D” or “F” in any General Education course taken within one year of their first enrollment date. The Office of the Registrar will automatically apply NC grades at the end of the term for eligible students. Students who desire to have their original grade reflected on their transcript must appeal to the Office of the Registrar.
