The ADA Programs Office assists in providing individual support services to encourage full participation for employees with disabilities.

ADA Compliance Services

The ADA Programs Office is responsible for ensuring campus-wide compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Amendment Act of 2008 (ADAAA), and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and as such, directly responds to faculty, staff, and public requests for reasonable accommodations, and indirectly to student requests. Students requesting reasonable accommodations are referred to Student Accessibility Resources (SAR). Our office works collaboratively with SAR to assist with student needs that SAR is unable to meet and serves as a clearinghouse for all reasonable accommodation requests involving physical access.

The ADA Programs Office works collaboratively with other university entities as well as external community organizations to help meet the university’s ADA mission and goals. They also provide leadership in promoting inclusiveness, disability awareness, and education in the local community. From that perspective, the ADA Programs Office monitors our campus for ADA compliance, consults and advises faculty, students, and staff on disability related issues, and provides training and awareness opportunities for the campus community.

If you are dissatisfied with a decision or feel you have been treated unfairly regarding your request for reasonable accommodation, please refer to the University Policy P-13.08-3/17 Prohibition of Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation. Other Services

The ADA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating reasonable accommodation request(s) for applicants, faculty, staff, and student employees with disabilities. These guidelines are designed to inform members of the campus community and the general public regarding accommodations in employment or in the application process. Individuals needing accommodations should visit the Employee Accommodation Procedure and follow the Reasonable Accommodation Process described there.
