UWF Bookstore Overview
The Bookstore is the official source for course materials and everything UWF.
What You Need, When You Need It
The University has partnered with Follett Higher Education Group to operate the UWF Bookstore and satellite store at Fort Walton Beach. Contract management and oversight is the responsibility of Business Services. Follett has been in business for 140 years and manages more than 930 bookstores nationwide.
The official UWF Bookstore: We stock the largest selection of textbooks, course materials, and Argonaut emblematic gear in Pensacola. Our primary purpose is making sure students have the required and/or recommended texts and course materials as specified by their professor. Books can be purchased new, used. or rented for the semester.
Order online or in person. UWF’s online registration system connects directly to the UWF Bookstore, allowing students to purchase or rent textbooks online immediately after registering for classes. The order can be shipped to the student's home or held at the store for pick up.
Shop by Author in store. The UWF Bookstore has reorganized the course materials (textbooks) section in the store to be in alphabetical order by author. This reorganization makes it easier for students to find what they need, as all affordability options are located in the same place within the store. UWF Bookstore Shop By Author URL
Textbook Program - Financial Aid Deferment
If a student is receiving financial aid and has excess funds (after tuition and fees are paid), the Bookstore Deferment Program will allow the purchase of textbooks up to $800 before aid is disbursed. Students will receive notification, sent to their UWF email address, from the UWF Controller"s Office if they have excess financial aid funds that may be used. Students simply select their course materials then sign the bookstore receipt. This authorizes UWF to deduct the Bookstore charges from your financial aid and/or scholarship award. (If financial aid status changes, the student is responsible for purchases made under this program.)
Regalia: Caps, Gowns...and more!
In order to participate in the ceremony, students must wear appropriate regalia. Anyone without regalia will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony.
Caps, Gowns, Tassels and Hoods
Ordering and purchasing of academic regalia such as caps, gowns, tassels, hoods, stoles, etc, and other graduation related items such as invitations can be made at the University Bookstore. Contact the UWF Bookstore at uwfshop.com or (850) 474-3092.
You may also place your online order at colleges.herffjones.com/college/uwf. Organizations must obtain approval the semester prior for wearing additional adornments to the gown.
When students pick up their regalia in the UWF Boosktore, they will be given a 3 X 5 card to complete. Students must bring this card with them to Commencement. As students step onto the stage to greet the College Dean, Provost, and University President, they will hand the card to the Reader. The Reader will announce the student's name from the information printed on the card. Students should make sure their name is printed phonetically on the card to help the Reader pronounce it correctly.
Undergraduate students should wear the tassel on the right side of the cap. After all the undergraduate degrees are conferred, the President will ask students to participate in the traditional “changing of the tassel ritual” in which the tassel is moved to the left side of the cap.
Graduate students should wear the tassel on the left side of the cap.
