Gender Identity Policy
Individuals shall be permitted to participate in Recreation & Wellness programs, facilities, activities and events in accordance with that person’s gender identity. Showing up for an event, program, facility or activity is all you have to do to establish your gender identity and participate. No questions will be asked, no proof is required, come join us and play! While participating in Intramural Sports, individuals may participate in accordance with their personal gender identity and expression selected by him or herself on IMleagues.com.
Gender Neutral Restroom & Locker Room
The HLS Facility has one Gender Neutral / Single Stall locker room for anybody who prefers an alternative to the traditional male and female specific locker rooms, parents, person with disabilities who have a caregiver or simply anyone who prefers more privacy.
Recreation & Wellness is continuing to improve programs and facilities to enhance accessibility for all guests. In addition to compliance with ADA laws (such as ramps, elevators, pool lift, etc.) we also provide various adaptive equipment such as the Scifit Pro 1000 upper body ergometer, the Nautilus Freedom Trainer and Cable Crossover machine.
Service Animals are permitted in the HLS Facility. However, emotional support, therapy, comfort or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA and are not permitted in the facility. For more information, please visit Student Accessibility Resources.
