MyUWF and ArgoNet Accounts

ArgoNet accounts provide access to UWF online services including MyUWF, email, eLearning, ArgoApps, ArgoAir, computer labs, office computers, and much more. All current UWF students, faculty, and staff receive an ArgoNet username and password. UWF applicants and former students have limited access MyUWF accounts. Applicants who become enrolled students are eligible for an upgrade to an ArgoNet account with full student privileges.

Applicants/Students
After your application has been processed, you will receive a letter from the university containing your UWF ID. At that time, you can activate your account.

Applicants have access to a limited set of apps in MyUWF. If you become a UWF student, you will be eligible for an upgrade to an ArgoNet account with full student privileges.

Former Students
Former student access is limited to personal student records. If you've used MyUWF in the past, your previous account should still be active. Former students who have not used MyUWF can activate their account at any time.

After two semesters of non-enrollment, student ArgoNet accounts are downgraded to limited access MyUWF accounts.

Employees

Faculty and staff employees paid by UWF
UWF-paid employees can activate their account approximately 1 hour after the employee is entered into the payroll system by Human Resources.
Any new employee that is paid by UWF must be entered into the payroll system by Human Resources before an ArgoNet account will be generated. Human Resources must receive all essential documents and a completed background screening prior to entering the employee into the payroll system. If you have questions or need additional clarification, please contact the Office of Human Resources at (850) 474-2694.

University affiliates paid by a source other than UWF (e.g., University of Florida, PSC, Capstone, Aramark)
Departments preparing for the arrival of a new affiliate may request the creation of an ArgoNet account in advance of the employee's first day of work. The account will then be ready for activation when the employee arrives. DISReps or other authorized personnel can initiate the creation of an account via the ITS Support Center app in MyUWF. Select Faculty/Staff Requests, then ArgoNet Account for Persons Not Paid by UWF.

If the account is for a volunteer, Human Resources must confirm that the volunteer/department has completed and submitted a Volunteer Worker Agreement.

Activating Your Account

  1. Go to MyUWF (my.uwf.edu).
  2. In the Home Items list, click Activate Your Account - New to UWF.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Account Assistant.

You can change your password from My Account in MyUWF.

Note: When you activate your account you must agree to an acceptable use policy. If the systems administrator suspects that you may have violated the usage agreement, he or she will change your password and suspend your account pending an appointment to discuss the matter.  For more details on your rights and responsibilities, see the Computer Usage Agreement and Student Communication Policy.

Students
UWF applicants are eligible for an upgrade to an ArgoNet account with full student privileges according to the schedule below. When your account is ready for upgrade, a notification will appear on your MyUWF home page and an upgrade button will be available in the My Account app.

Freshmen (less than 30 credit hours)
Upgrade available one business day after registering for orientation.

Transfer students (30 or more credit hours)
Upgrade available one business day after registering for orientation. If you do not attend orientation, the upgrade is available within one hour after registering for classes.

Employees
ArgoNet accounts are available for UWF-paid employees approximately 1 hour after the employee is entered into the payroll system by Human Resources. When your employee account is ready, a notification will appear on your MyUWF home page and an Activate button will be available in the My Account app.

After you activate your employee account, your employee email address (@uwf.edu) will become your official email address and all university communication will be sent to that email address.

Instructors
Instructor apps are automatically added to your MyUWF account at the time that you become an "instructor of record" for a course. No additional action is necessary.

Student Employees
Apps designated for student employees are automatically added to your MyUWF account at the time that you become a student employee at the university. No additional action is necessary.

Employee ArgoNet accounts are not created for student staff. Exceptions to this rule can be made if the employee becomes an instructor of record for a credit course, is hired as a permanent employee with benefits, or if the student account is scheduled for deletion in the near future.

Former Employees
If you were employed at the university within the past 16 months, you can log into MyUWF using your ArgoNet username and password. Former employees are limited to accessing tax-related information in MyUWF. Your former employee permissions will expire 16 months after your termination date.
